Pilgrimage to Montgomery
Join 904WARD as we take a Pilgrimage to Montgomery
We partner with the Equal Justice Initiative on the Jacksonville Community Remembrance Project (JCRP) to memorialize victims of racial terror lynching and bring about racial healing and reconciliation - you have even helped us in this process.
As part of JCRP, in 2019, we started sponsoring pilgrimages to Montgomery, AL, to create a gracious space for learning, grieving, healing, and action.
We believe it is important to understand history to propel us forward into the future. This is truly impactful work that will resonate throughout our work in Jacksonville, and we'd love to have you take this journey with us.
The trip includes transportation to and from Montgomery, a two-night stay in the Staybridge Suites hotel in downtown Montgomery, entrance fees to the Legacy Museum and National Memorial for Peace and Justice, and all meals over the course of the trip. Students are encouraged to have spending money for snacks and souvenirs, but no money on behalf of the students is required for this trip.
Space is limited, and we will fill the trip on a first-come, first-serve basis. Each trip will also have a required pre-travel gathering (virtually) on the Sunday afternoon before your scheduled trip. If you want to attend, please purchase your tickets below using the code Student24 at checkout. We ask that you not share that code with anyone. Additionally, we require all attendees under the age of 18 to submit documentation confirming permission to attend from a parent or guardian. After registration, you will receive a complete packet with detailed information for parents as well as forms that need to be completed.
