904WARD and the Jacksonville Community Remembrance Project are deeply grateful to everyone who joined us on Sunday, September 14, for a moving Soil Collection Ceremony in honor of Joe and Ada Lang, a couple tragically lynched on August 28, 1921, on Jacksonville's northwest side.

Your presence helped us honor their lives, uplift their descendants, and acknowledge this painful part of our city’s history while committing to the ongoing work of justice, healing, and reconciliation. A special thanks to our partners at the Equal Justice Initiative.

By remembering the past together, we take meaningful steps toward a brighter, more equitable future for Jacksonville.
